Creative Ways Wineries are Staying Connected and Promoting DtC Shipping

Overcoming the challenges of social distancing is proving difficult for many industries during the time of COVID-19. The inability to interact face-to-face with customers is hampering sales efforts for most. However, some of our clients are getting creative in finding ways to stay connected with their target audiences. 

At a time when wineries can’t rely on in-person and tasting room sales, DtC wine shipping is more relevant and important than ever. Building on the existing strength and value of this channel is proving to be a great way to overcome some of today’s obstacles.  

Here are just a few examples on how wineries are staying connected with customers in what has become a disconnected environment: 

Terra Valentine is hosting a virtual wine and cheese tasting. They’ve shared the pairings ahead of time so you can participate in the tasting in your own home. They’re also offering care packages with six pre-selected bottles of wine.

Gloria Ferrer is sharing pairing ideas with wine, movies and popcorn recipes. They are also offering a flat $5 shipping rate.

Frog’s Leap is doing a number of things to stay connected with their customers. They are offering delivery service, and a flat $5 shipping rate. They are also offering a wine survival kit. They have scheduled a series of virtual tastings as well.

Cuviason is staying connected to the community with social media and hosted a virtual tasting on Instagram Live. They are also offering $1 ground shipping.

DeLille Cellars, Chateau Ste. Michelle, Columbia Winery and L’Ecole are all offering shipping specials like included, penny or flat rate.
